Pittfield Gundogs

Stud dogs, planned litters and kennel services — raised and run on a working Oxfordshire farm.

Planned Labrador litters Proven stud dogs Farm-based kennels for working dogs 5 Labradors on the team
Our Story

Built on a farm, driven by a passion for gundogs.

Pittfield Gundogs started with one puppy and a love of shooting. Lessons with other professionals turned into a network, the network turned into a second dog, and a first litter followed soon after. Fully equipped kennels came next.

Today we run planned litters, stud and kennel boarding from our Oxfordshire farm — every dog raised the way we'd want our own raised, and every owner treated like part of the same working relationship that got us here.

Hands-on experience

Every method we teach, we've used ourselves — first on our own dogs, then in the field.

Honest, patient care

Dogs and owners learn at different speeds. We meet both where they are, not where a schedule says they should be.

Proper Oxfordshire roots

A working farm, not a facility — kennels, training ground and stud all in one place we know inside out.

Meet Henry

The face behind Pittfield.

Henry grew up on the farm, surrounded by working dogs and the countryside for as long as he can remember. Shooting and the outdoors were never really a hobby he picked up — they were just part of growing up here, and it's where his love of working Labradors first started.

That early start grew into something more: a genuine interest in training, in understanding how a dog thinks, and in building the kind of partnership where handler and dog are properly working as one. For Henry, what a dog can do in the field has always mattered less than the bond behind it — the trust and companionship built over time, one small step at a time.

Watching a dog find its feet, grow into its own character, and reach its potential — that's still the best part of the job.

Above all, Henry is an animal lover first. Every dog at Pittfield gets the same time, patience and care he'd want for his own — and some of his best friendships have come through the wider gundog community that surrounds it.

Planned Litters

Labrador litters, raised properly.

We breed Labradors only, on the farm, with every puppy raised underfoot from day one. Currently no puppies on the ground — join the waiting list to hear about our next planned litter first.

Kennel Boarding

Farm-based boarding, built around working dogs.

Our kennels are set up with working gundogs in mind — the same farm, exercise and routine we give our own dogs. When we've got space, we're also happy to welcome dogs of other breeds, so it's always worth asking.

Bonnie

KC name: Wine Merlot of Pittfield

Fox red Labrador bitch · Born 15 August 2022

Bonnie is a beautiful fox red Labrador with a gentle and loving nature, making her a wonderful companion both at home and around the farm.

In the field, Bonnie is a focused and reliable working dog who excels in closer-range work. She particularly thrives in tighter areas, such as dense cover and brambles, where her careful approach and natural ability really come into their own. Senna

KC name: Tarkaswell Purdy of Pittfield

Black Labrador bitch · Born 3 August 2023

Senna is the speed machine of the team, excelling at longer-distance retrieves and straight-line work with impressive pace and determination. She is also an exceptional water dog, showing confidence and natural ability on every retrieve.

At home, Senna has a softer side and loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa for a cuddle. Full of enthusiasm and always eager to work, she brings plenty of drive and character to our team.

Blair

KC name: Garshake Galaxy of Pittfield

Black Labrador dog · Born 30 July 2025

One of the youngest members of our team, Blair is thoughtful and highly intelligent — always willing to listen and eager to learn, taking everything in his stride. There's a sensible, steady quality to him — a bit of a teacher's pet — that hints at real pack-leader potential as he grows up.

Alongside his brother Angus, Blair is developing into a promising young working Labrador with plenty of potential. Both youngsters are booked in for their health and DNA testing this year as they continue their training and progress through the ranks.

Angus

KC name: Pittfield Teal

Black Labrador dog · Born 15 August 2025

Angus has inherited many of the qualities of his mother, Senna — including her turn of speed, already showing the makings of a real speed machine — along with her affectionate nature and love of being close to people. Always first in line for a cuddle, Angus has a wonderful temperament both at home and during training.

Alongside his brother Blair, he is showing fantastic promise as a young working Labrador. The pair are affectionately known as Bonnie and Clyde — our "brothers from another mother." With health and DNA testing planned this year, we're excited to watch them continue to develop and fulfil their potential.

Maverick

KC name: Tricymoedd Fighting Spirit

Fox red Labrador dog · Born 17 August 2022

Powerful, athletic and driven, Maverick is an exceptionally fast dog with an immense passion for his work. His confidence and determination in the field make him a standout member of the team, and he thrives on every retrieve.

Despite his impressive work ethic, Maverick has a much more relaxed side at home and is more than happy to spend the day asleep in front of the fire after a day's work.
